We have completed the post-production on the Farmer John Peterson Episode!

We have completed the final post-production on our most recent episode featuring Farmer John Peterson!
This show marks a first for the Hippy Gourmet, in that it's the first time we've ever done a movie and cookbook review, highlighting the film "The Real Dirt on Farmer John," and the cookbook "The Real Dirt on Vegetables."
This is an absolutely wonderful movie that follows the life of John Peterson, from his childhood on his family farm in Illinois, through the exploration of the 1960's, the dark ages of American farms in bankruptcy in the 1980's (where he almost loses the entire farm)... to the complete resurrection when John decides to turn the farm bio-dynamic and organic, to feed the families associated with the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) movement!
In this upcoming episode for PBS, our Hippy Gourmet interviews Farmer John, as well as cooks up several recipes from his cookbook. We're also blessed to have the music of  Leslie Littlefield, as she performs several of her songs from the movie and her recent CD.
To learn more about Farmer John Peterson and Leslie Littlefield, please check out their website at
Watch this movie, we guarantee you will find it to be one of the most hopeful messages of our time- and then you can pick up their cookbook and feel like you're cooking right along with all of them! Enjoy!
Peace & Love
